Retour sur la production de l'iPhone Ultra
Apple’s foldable iPhone Ultra is reportedly back on track for a September unveiling, putting rumors of production delays to rest. New supply chain data indicates that technical hurdles surrounding the 3D-printed hinge module have been overcome, clearing the way for test production to begin.
Défis rencontrés dans la fabrication
According to industry sources, manufacturers Shinjuxing (Taiwan) and Amphenol (USA) faced challenges in perfecting the hinge mechanism. A Taiwanese official disclosed:
“After millions of durability tests, there was a slight noise from the hinge. In some assembly processes, the tolerance was greater than expected, and the defect rate increased somewhat.”
These issues reportedly caused friction during development but have now been largely resolved.
Importance de la charnière
The hinge, critical for the device’s folding performance and screen longevity, underwent rigorous adjustments to meet Apple’s standards. Engineers prioritized eliminating any audible clicks during opening and closing motions while maintaining precision tolerances to prevent defects.
Phase de vérification avant la production de masse
With test production now underway, the device enters its final verification phase before mass manufacturing starts. This stage ensures production lines operate smoothly at scale. Apple’s cautious approach stems from its delayed entry into the foldables market, where it aims to avoid reliability issues seen in competing products.
Prévisions de lancement
There were some whispers about possible launch dates as late as December 2026 or early 2027. But now, it looks like we can expect a classic September announcement, which lines up with Apple’s usual schedule for flagship iPhones.
If this timeline holds true, the iPhone Ultra will be the company’s most premium model yet, hitting the market soon after it’s unveiled.
